The Blair County Greenways Plan was developed and integrated into the 2007 Comprehensive Planning effort and was done at the same time as the Greenways Plan for the other five counties in the Southern Alleghenies Region. As such it coordinates greenways efforts with the remainder of the region while retaining a Blair County flavor.

The Greenways Plan itself is the final part of the 2007 Comprehensive Plan, and includes four maps developed specifically for the plan. The plan itself is encapsulated in Map Four (reduced size at right), which often serves as a visual Executive Summary.
